Padang, West Sumatra - Some 30 countries are expected to attend the International Youth Festival for Marine Sports (FIBOP) to be held here on 8-16 August.
"President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to open the event," Mayor of Padang Fauzi Bahar said here on Tuesday.
Among the numbers competed in the event are dragon boat, beach volleyball, international kites and the Teluk bayur Race as well as an inter island swimming, he added.
He said the event would be held to commemorate Padang‘s 338th anniversary.
Among the 30 countries are the Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia (Penang), Malaysia (Sabah), the Netherlands, Brunei Darussalam, South Korea, France and Britain. (*)
