The `Majlis Istiadat Perkahwinan Diraja` or the Royal Wedding ceremony, between Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bulqiah and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Khairul Khalil bin Pengiran Syed Haji Jaafari was formally closed with a `Majlis Istiadat Doa Selamat` and `Menutup Gendang Jaga-Jaga`, the playing of traditional musical instruments by court musicians at Istana Nurul Iman and Darul Karamah.
At Istana Nurul Iman, the `Majlis Istiadat Membaca Doa Selamat` and `Menutup Gendang Jaga-Jaga` was conducted in the presence of Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz. It began with Yang Dimuliakan Lagi Dihormati Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Paduka Doctor Haji Awang Hussain informing Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah that the ceremony was ready to be commenced. Yang Amat Mulia in turn asked Yang Dimuliakan Lagi Dihormati Pehin Orang Kaya DiGadong Seri Lela to inform His Majesty that the ceremony was ready to proceed. Yang Dimuliakan Lagi Dihormati Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela duly sought an audience with His Majesty and informed His Majesty that the ceremony was ready to proceed. After His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam gave his consent that the ceremony be commenced, the `Dikir Marhaban` was performed. Twenty-one cannon shots sounded out marking the closing of the `Istiadat Gendang Jaga-Jaga` and at the same time, the royal regalia at the `Balai Pemajangan`, Istana Nurul Iman were taken down. Doa Selamat was read by Pehin Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned. Yang Dimuliakan Lagi Dihormati Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong then informed Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah that the ceremony has been duly conducted. Yang Amat Mulia in turn asked Yang Dimuliakan Lagi Dihormati Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela to once again inform His Majesty that the ceremony has been duly performed and to seek Yang Dimuliakan Lagi Dihormati Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela left for an audience with His Majesty and the ceremony was brought to a close.
Meanwhile, the `Istiadat Doa Selamat` and `Menutup Gendang Jaga-Jaga` at the groom`s residence at Darul Karamah in Kampung Beribi, Gadong preceded the ceremony at Istana Nurul Iman. The ceremony began with the arrival of His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, who has been presiding over the two-week long Royal Wedding proceedings for the groom. It began with Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Maharaja Kerna Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Yaakub informing Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pengiran Anak Haji Abd Rahim that the ceremony was ready to proceed. Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Maharaja Kerna later informed His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah that the `Istiadat Membaca Doa Selamat` and the closing of `Gendang Jaga-Jaga` was ready to proceed. After His Royal Highness gave his consent that the ceremony be commenced, the `Dikir Marhaban` was performed. Canons were fired seventeen times accompanied at the same time by the dismantling of royal regalia at the `Balai Pemajangan` of Darul Karamah were taken down. Doa Selamat was read by Pehin Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.
Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Maharaja Kerna later informed Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad that the `Majlis Istiadat Membaca Doa Selamat` and `Menutup Gendang Jaga-Jaga` has been duly implemented. Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Maharaja Kerna later informed His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah on the matter. Among those present were Pengiran Cheterias, Cabinet Minister, Members of Legislative Council, Deputy Ministers, Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin Manteri, Manteri Hulubalang and Manteri Pedalaman, Heads of Diplomatic Missions, Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Government Departments.
