RTB-RTM Pantun Fest Recordings Come To A Close

Bandar Seri Begawan - Recordings of the annual pantun festival between Radio Television Brunei (RTB) and Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) ended yesterday at Studio 1 of RTB in the capital.

For two days, artistes from Brunei and Malaysia had been working tirelessly for the pantun festival, which will be aired by both stations next Hari Raya Aidiladha on December 20.

The artistes, along with television crews of RTB and RTM, attended a farewell dinner at the residence of Haji Murni in Kampong Lambak, Jalan Pasir Berakas.

The Malaysian artistes will leave for Kuala Lumpur today.

RTM was represented by singers Natasha and Haziq and actors Imuda, Bell and Wan Maimunah, while RTB was represented by singers Ak`Amilin and Tengku Syifa and actors Hulubalang Diraja Haji Abdul Rahrnan, Hjh Soma, Serudin Haji Awang Damit, Fathan and Nurharizah.

The 45-minute programme features artistes from both countries in acting sketches, exchanging pantun and singing.

Programme producer Dayang Hajah Jauyah bte Haji Chuchu of RTB Television Drama Unit said she was satisfied with the performances of participating artistes. One of the objectives, she said, is to honour the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by RTB and RTM which aims at strengthening the ties between the two stations.

"It is also to portray and cultivate positive image to the youngster generations through the revelation of culture and traditional values, and to introduce their song compositions to each other," she added.
