Showcase Of Crafts From The Malay Archipelago

Kuala Lumpur - An exhibition on the crafts unique to the Malay archipelago, especially crafts from Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam, is to be held at the Craft Complex here from July 26.

The five day event themed `Craft - A Heritage of the Archipelago` is the fifth edition of the Archipelago Craft Promotions organised through Kraftangan Malaysia by the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage (KEKKWA).

According to the Principal Assistant Director of Kraftangan Malaysia`s Public Relations Department, Faezah Abd Aziz, the event is to showcase the diverse range of crafts available and enhance craftsmanship skills in the region.

Apart from that, the promotion serves as reference point on the craft found in the three nations and provide new ideas for entrepreneurs.

About 160 craftsmen are participating in the event. Apart from craft, culture and arts promotion, visitors will be entertained with fashion and cultural shows.

The exhibition is open to the public from 9.30 am to 7 pm throughout the five days.
