St Angela`s School Celebrates United Nations Day

Bandar Seri Begawan - Pre-school students, teachers, administrators and parents of St Angela`s School in Seria gathered to mark United Nations Day as well as to celebrate the cultural and ethnic diversity of the school in a special ceremony yesterday morning.

Students came in colourful traditional and national dress to celebrate the event.

The opening ceremony kicked off with a flag parade representing some of the UN countries by all Nursery, Lower Kindergarten and Upper Kindergarten students.

Students as young as three years old were taught to identify the national flags of the UN countries.

Students were dressed in costumes representing different ethnic groups such as Murut, Iban, Filipino and from countries like Malaysia, Brunei, Mexico and Japan.

The event was coloured with special Indonesian and Chinese dance performances from the students and a group singing of `We Are The World`.

The ceremony ended with a prize giving ceremony to students with the best costume.
